Going back to March 22 of this year, I mentioned I had a form of skin cancer called Squamous Cell Carcinoma. I had a growth on my middle finger, left hand, removed, and the biopsy came back negative. That was in June. So, fingers crossed that’s the end of it. It was interesting watching the doctor cut it out and I had to have seven stitches. Yes, it did hurt a bit, but it was certainly tolerable. Everything appears to be normal now and it took a few weeks before the slight discomfort in that finger went away. The doctor took a second look at it a couple of weeks ago and he seemed OK with how it was healing. I’ll go with that. Anyway, I truly hope it’s behind me now as life goes on. How many times have people heard me say, “Every day is a gift.”? It’s so true, and I wish all of you good health and long may you run.

Anyone from the “Vietnam era” will identify with both the positive and negative effects of that lost war and its victims…troubled, they returned to an unappreciative country, trying to forget what they had witnessed or done. Sometimes, only the unconditional love of an animal can move them through their terrors.

What an incredible book that had so many amazing messages and had me experience so many different emotions. I would strongly recommend this book to absolutely anyone. I can say with certainty that it is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. I can’t wait to read his next book!!!
